After lockdown lifted, we asked ourselves a simple question: why are we separating our people into hotel rooms? We wanted one roof, one table, one shared sky — a space that kept us together, not apart.
Four years as guests
We spent four years staying at villas across India — not as critics, but as curious, paying guests. We watched how properties were managed, what hosts got right, and where trust quietly broke down.
Naming the problem
We named the problem clearly. Listings were selling dreams, not delivering them. Photos lit by professionals. Reality scrubbed down or left dusty. Guests arriving hopeful, leaving quietly let down.
We started building
We stopped just observing and started building. The Unlocked Escapes launched in March 2026 to fix exactly this — one curated, verified collection of private villas, with no noise and no pretense.
